2017 Myrtle Beach 4th of July Fun!

The Fourth of July is fast approaching and Myrtle Beach is one of the best places to spend this summertime holiday.

Below is our roundup of the top nearby Myrtle Beach area celebration spots so you know where the fireworks and happenings will be for the 2017 holiday!

Fun Poolside Resort Activities


Why leave the resort if you don’t have to? Join us on our pooldeck for our 4th of July Pool Bash with a poolside DJ spinning tunes for the whole family from noon to 4 p.m. Our refreshing summertime drinks will be available for purchase at our swim-up pool bar. Then, head over to Captain’s Quarters for their family-friendly glow party at 7 p.m., followed by their fire and hula show at 9:30 p.m. (weather-permitting).

Myrtle Beach Boardwalk Oceanfront Fireworks Show


Hot Summer Nights at the Boardwalk will include a special celebration for the 4th of July. They will be having a giant firework show at 10 p.m. and there will surely be lots of families enjoying time at the Boardwalk restaurants or grabbing a spot on the beach with a blanket or chair to view the fireworks over the ocean. The fireworks will be shot off of 2nd Avenue Pier. You may even be able to spot the fireworks from the beach in front of our resort if you are lucky!

Murrells Inlet MarshWalk Boat Parade + Fireworks


One of the most popular places outside of the city of Myrtle Beach to celebrate Independence Day is Murrells Inlet, just a short drive south of hotel BLUE. They have their yearly Boat Parade, which will go past the MarshWalk. Planned for high tide, the parade will begin at 4 p.m. in Garden City, making its way to the Inlet. Stick around for their celebratory 20-minute fireworks show which begins at 10 p.m.

Broadway at the Beach Dining, Fun + Fireworks


If you’d rather spend the 4th of July strolling around, check out Broadway at the Beach. You can have a friendly video game competition at Dave & Buster’s, feed the fish in the pond or check out sea life at Ripley's Aquarium.

At 10 p.m. fireworks will light up over Lake Broadway, the perfect end to a fun-filled day!

Croissants Bistro & Bakery Cupcake Contest


Beginning at 4 p.m. on the 4th of July you can watch contestants devour as many cupcakes as possible in a 5-minute time span. Last year’s champion consumed 33 cupcakes at this local restaurant and bakery. In its 6th year, this fun event also features face painting, cupcake decorating and more. If you just want to watch, there is no fee! Or, sign up to compete for just $20 plus receive a t-shirt!
