1. The Bowery

- Address: 10 9th Ave N, Myrtle Beach, SC
- Website: thebowery.com
- Price point: $$
- Best for: Country music
There’s a sign outside this bar that says: “If you haven’t found a friend in the world, you can find one at The Bowery.” This is one of the best Myrtle Beach nightlife spots for anyone who likes Southern vibes and country music.
A local staple for over 80 years, The Bowery’s walls are adorned with old photographs from patrons and staff over the years and Southern-themed memorabilia. While the country live bands are sure to entertain, you can come a bit earlier for a more relaxed beer and wings kind of hangout to connect with your travel buddies.
Our favorite spot to sit? The expansive, sun-soaked patio, with a cold one, of course.
2. Fat Harold’s Beach Club
- Address: 212 Main St, North Myrtle Beach, SC
- Website: fatharolds.com
- Price point: $$
- Best for: Shag music
The real king of shag clubs is Fat Harold’s, hands down. Head over to North Myrtle Beach on a Monday for a shag lesson and enjoy a juicy burger and a cold one on the beach while you’re at it.
Fat Harold’s is a local household name for everything shag, with beach music bands like Cat5, Steve Owens & Summertime, and Too Much Sylvia playing on the regular.
As for prices? This is one of the more reasonable spots for a beer on the North Strand. If you crave a beach club with great live music seven nights a week at a decent price, this one’s for you!
3. 3001 Nightlife
- Address: 920 Lake Arrowhead Rd, Myrtle Beach, SC
- Website: 3001nightlifemb.com
- Price point: $$$
- Best for: Electronic music and oldies
Don’t you miss the three-room nightclubs of the 90s? Well, you can go beyond nostalgia with a visit to 3001 Nightlife. This spot combines three nightclubs into one with separate venues for:
- Envy Nightclub: House music, techno, and Latin House
- Bourbon Cowboy: Country rock and honky-tonk
- Club Rewind: 70s, 80s, and 90s classics
No matter your musical cup of tea, 3001 delivers. We love this option for a versatile night out that won’t break the bank. Their drink prices are reasonable, and they have happy hour specials. If you came to South Carolina to show off your moves on the dancefloor, this is the place to be.
4. OD Arcade & Lounge
- Address: 100 S Ocean Blvd, North Myrtle Beach, SC
- Website: odarcade.com
- Price point: $$
- Best for: Arcade games and billiards, late-night eats
Craving a chill night out with some beers and a game of pool? The OD Arcade & Lounge delivers every time. Open from 11 am to 2 am; this bar features a giant “Connect Four” game, various arcade games, and ample billiard tables to practice that double shot. You can also check the website’s event calendar for local live music and karaoke nights.
Weekly food specials are abundant and diverse, from fried chicken and gizzards to rib racks and burgers. Come in for brunch the next day if you want to get re-energized!
5. Riptydz
- Address: 210 N Ocean Blvd, Myrtle Beach, SC
- Website: riptydz.com
- Price point: $$
- Best for: Ocean views and seafood
Did someone say rooftop bar? That’s one of the many selling points Riptydz has to offer. The 17,000-square-foot establishment has ample room for locals and customers to enjoy gorgeous sunsets, and Myrtle Beach Boardwalk views over prime ribs or fresh seafood catches of the day.
Located right on the beach, it’s also an easy enough spot to wander to after a busy beach day of swimming and fun in the sun. The staff here is super attentive and accommodating with dietary restrictions and anything else you might need to make your experience phenomenal.
Pro tip: Say yes to an appetizer, ideally the smoked gouda and chicken spring rolls — to die for!
6. Duck’s Dance Club
- Address: 231 Main St, North Myrtle Beach, SC
- Website: ducksdanceclub.com
- Price point: $$
- Best for: Swing dancing
Duck’s Dance Club is a diverse nightlife spot on our list because of the layout. One half of this spot is a bar and restaurant to enjoy a nice dinner. The other side? Bring out your dancing shoes. Wednesday is for line dance lessons, while Thursday is for West Coast Swing!
Sometimes, you might have to wait in line on a busier Friday or Saturday night. But often, we’ve seen the club owner walking by and chatting people up, which definitely makes the wait go by faster!
Duck’s also hosts shag nights in addition to swing and country line dancing classes. Check out their monthly calendar for regular live music as well!
